A lifeline for 7,000 beneficiaries: Namaa Charity completes 20 water wells in India

Khaled Al-Shamri, Head of the Development and Relief Sector at Namaa Charity, a branch of the Social Reform Society, announced the completion of 20 water wells in India, benefiting more than 7,000 people. This initiative is part of the organization's efforts to provide safe water sources for the most vulnerable groups and enhance livelihood stability in impoverished communities.

In a press statement, Al-Shamri explained that these wells represent a lifeline for thousands of families who previously suffered from water scarcity and difficulty accessing clean water sources. He emphasized that the project is part of a series of sustainable development initiatives implemented by the society in several countries.

He pointed out that many areas, particularly remote villages in India, face severe water challenges, forcing residents to rely on contaminated or distant sources. This negatively impacts their health and exacerbates the suffering of women and children who bear the burden of fetching water over long distances.

He affirmed that well-drilling projects are a top priority for Namaa Charity due to their direct and sustainable impact, which extends beyond simply providing water to include improving public health, strengthening social stability, and opening up broader horizons for a dignified life.

He pointed out that the continuation of these initiatives embodies the deep-rooted nature of Kuwaiti charitable work, and its continued performance of its humanitarian role in supporting communities in need and achieving a tangible impact despite the challenges.
