Al-Otaibi: The elderly are a shining page in Kuwait's history
Saad Al-Otaibi, Chairman of the Union of Charitable Societies and Endowments and CEO of Namaa Charity at the Social Reform Society, emphasized that Namaa Charity's sponsorship of the Gulf Forum on the Quality of Life for the Elderly stems from its deep belief in the importance of this noble group, who have dedicated their lives to serving their homeland and future generations, remaining today a source of appreciation and loyalty from all components of society.
He said that the elderly represent a shining page in Kuwait's history, a living memory that preserves values and experiences. It is imperative that they maintain their rightful place and be surrounded by care and attention, in recognition of their contributions and as an embodiment of the spirit of social solidarity inherent in the people of Kuwait, which has made charitable work an integral part of their daily lives. He pointed out that through this sponsorship, Namaa Charity seeks to contribute to establishing new concepts for the quality of life for the elderly, enhancing the services provided to them, and opening broader horizons for community and official cooperation. This ensures that caring for this group remains a sustainable institutional endeavor, not limited to temporary initiatives, but extends to creating a better reality for them.
He added that this sponsorship affirms Namaa Charity's role in promoting social responsibility, which is no longer a luxury, but rather a moral and national obligation, reflecting the deep belief that the advancement of society can only be achieved by caring for all its segments, especially those in need of care and attention in their advanced stages of life.
The CEO of Namaa Charity also praised the significant role played by the Ministry of Social Affairs in this field, emphasizing that its cooperation with the charitable sector reflects a wise vision in engaging civil society institutions in achieving their goals for the social care segments they oversee, ensuring the comprehensiveness and effectiveness of their work. He concluded his statement by emphasizing that caring for the elderly is a responsibility shared by all, and that the Gulf Forum for the Quality of Life of the Elderly represents a blessed step toward exchanging expertise and strengthening partnerships between official, civil, and charitable institutions, with the ultimate goal of providing a dignified and stable life for this group, so dear to all our hearts.
