Namaa Charity: Our relief and development projects in Chad are diverse.
As part of the State of Kuwait's humanitarian efforts and in continuation of its pioneering role in charitable and relief work, a delegation from Namaa Charity of the Social Reform Society implemented a package of urgent relief and development projects in several needy areas in Chad. The delegation, headed by Khaled Mubarak Al-Shamri, Head of the Development and Relief Sector, supervised the project implementation and met with beneficiaries, aiming to alleviate their suffering and provide sustainable solutions that enhance their quality of life.
The projects included the distribution of food aid, the implementation of eye surgeries, the inauguration of water wells, and the laying of the foundation stone for schools, development complexes, and an integrated village. This comprehensive development initiative embodies Namaa Charity's commitment to Kuwait's vision of supporting humanity, wherever and whenever it may be.
Al-Shamri affirmed that the relief delegation from Namaa Charity implemented a package of urgent relief and development projects in several areas of humanitarian need, emphasizing that these projects represent a living example of Kuwaiti institutional giving, which combines immediate relief and sustainable development. Al-Shammari expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect him, and to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him, for their support and patronage of charitable and humanitarian work, which has made Kuwait a global humanitarian center and a source of pride in the fields of giving.
Al-Shammari also extended his sincere thanks to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the facilities, follow-up, and continuous coordination they provide, enabling charitable organizations to fulfill their humanitarian duties with complete transparency and effectiveness.
Al-Shammari said, "During this field visit, we distributed 700 food baskets to needy families as part of urgent interventions to address food insecurity. The baskets contained essential supplies sufficient for a family for an entire month, contributing to alleviating the burdens on needy families."
He added, "We also performed 225 eye surgeries, including cataract removal and lens implantation, restoring sight to hundreds of humanitarian cases and enabling them to resume normal lives and enjoy human dignity." Al Shamri continued, "Among the important development projects we launched during this visit was the laying of the foundation stone for three integrated development complexes and an orphanage, which include housing, a school, a mosque, a well, a Qur'an reading room, and a central kitchen. This is part of Nama's vision to provide comprehensive care for orphans in a safe and stimulating environment."
He also noted the inauguration of the drilling of five artesian wells, each benefiting approximately 2,500 people. He emphasized that providing clean water is one of the most important priorities of humanitarian work in light of the health and environmental challenges facing poor communities.
He continued, "In the education sector, we laid the foundation stone for a middle school that will accommodate 300 students. Through this, we seek to provide a safe and integrated educational environment for students in remote areas. This is a developmental step that lays the foundation for a better future."
Among the most prominent projects also launched is the Al-Muna Integrated Humanitarian Village, which includes 50 homes, a mosque, a medical clinic, a school, and a water well. He emphasized that this village represents a development model that enhances community stability and provides a decent life for poor families.
Al-Shammari emphasized that these projects came after careful field studies, in cooperation with Nama's local and international partners, ensuring the implementation of impactful projects that address actual needs. He noted that the goal is to shift from ad hoc relief work to sustainable development.
Al-Shammari concluded his statement by saying, "We work in accordance with Nama's vision, which is based on enhancing human dignity and achieving sustainability in giving. We renew our gratitude to our wise leadership, the ministries of state, and the philanthropists in Kuwait who transform their donations into a tangible impact that changes the lives of thousands around the world."
