Namaa lays the foundation stone for a model village in Chad.
The Kuwaiti Namaa Charitable Society announced the laying of the foundation stone for a model village in the city of Masqat, in the Hadjer Lamis state in the central west of the Republic of Chad. The project will serve a number of the most needy families.
Khaled Al-Shamri, head of the society's development and relief sector, said in a statement last Thursday that the village, named "Al-Muna," includes 50 housing units, a mosque, a health clinic, a school, and a water well.
Al-Shamri described this project as "one of the most important development initiatives this year," explaining that the village was designed to provide a "safe and integrated" housing environment for poor groups and displaced people who lost their homes due to conflict and disasters.
He added that the project goes beyond shelter, as it includes a mosque that instills community values and solidarity, a health clinic that provides basic healthcare, vaccinations, and maternal and child health services, a school that contributes to improving educational opportunities for children and reducing school dropouts, and an artesian well to provide clean drinking water for residents of the village and surrounding areas. In this context, he pointed out that the association "focuses on integrated projects that combine relief and sustainable development," emphasizing that the project site was selected based on careful field studies in cooperation with local partners to ensure that support reaches those who deserve it.
Al-Shammari thanked the Kuwaiti donors, praising their continued support, saying, "Every home in this village bears a Kuwaiti imprint of giving, and Kuwait, God willing, will remain a beacon of humanitarian work and building hope."
