Namaa Charity: National partnerships to consolidate human rights and localize charitable work in Kuwait

On a day that embodies the values of humanity and the responsibility of national partnership, Namaa Charity, affiliated with the Social Reform Society, affirms its participation in the "Human Rights: A Shared National Responsibility" event organized by the National Human Rights Bureau on Wednesday, December 10th. Namaa reaffirms its commitment to its developmental role in serving the community, strengthening the human rights system, and consolidating integrated institutional charitable work within Kuwait.

Mr. Saad Marzouq Al-Otaibi, CEO of Namaa Charity, stated: "Our participation in the 'Human Rights: A Shared National Responsibility' event stems from Namaa Charity's belief that humanitarian work is not an individual effort, but rather a comprehensive national responsibility in which governmental and non-governmental institutions participate, each from its own position, to build a more just and empowered society."

He added: "Over the past years, Namaa Charity has established strong partnerships with the National Human Rights Bureau and with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior through the 'Support Them' initiative, which we are proud to say has become a model to be emulated in supporting the most vulnerable groups, rehabilitating them, and integrating them into society in a civilized and responsible manner." Al-Otaibi explained that the "Support Them" initiative resulted in the implementation of a comprehensive project to rehabilitate the family home in the Central Prison. He described it as one of the high-quality projects reflecting Namaa's commitment to the community, stating, "This project is not merely about improving the prison environment; it's an investment in human beings, so that upon release, inmates can return as individuals capable of reintegrating and contributing positively to their country."

He continued, "Namaa also renovated classrooms within the prison to provide inmates with the opportunity to continue their education. In addition, they developed psychological rehabilitation halls, vocational workshops, and sports fields, and organized a spring camp as part of an integrated system focused on cognitive, skill-based, and behavioral development."

Al-Otaibi emphasized that Namaa Charity is committed to localizing charitable work within Kuwait through strategic projects implemented in full coordination with government agencies. These projects reflect the state's vision of promoting human dignity and protecting human rights. He added, "We believe that localizing charitable work is not just a slogan, but a reality we achieve through institutional work and projects that directly address the needs of the community, building a conscious, capable, and empowered generation." In closing, Al-Otaibi expressed his gratitude to the National Human Rights Bureau and to all partners in success from official and civil entities, stressing that Namaa Charity will continue its journey in serving Kuwaiti society and enhancing its pioneering role in humanitarian and human rights work.
