Namaa Charity: Drilling 5 wells in Yemen as an urgent humanitarian response to secure water in the most needy villages

Abdulaziz Al-Kandari, Deputy CEO of Namaa Charity at the Social Reform Society, stated that Namaa Charity is continuing its humanitarian efforts in Yemen by implementing a project to drill five water wells in several villages in the governorates of Hodeidah and Lahj – specifically in the Khalifa Al-Damashiyah area. This initiative aims to provide one of the most essential necessities for residents affected by water scarcity and the repercussions of the dire humanitarian situation.

Al-Kandari explained that the water crisis is one of the most serious daily challenges facing residents in these villages. Families, especially women and children, are forced to travel long distances to obtain limited quantities of unsafe water, negatively impacting public health and exacerbating the suffering of rural communities already burdened by weak infrastructure and limited resources.

He added that the well-drilling project aims to provide a clean and sustainable water source, contributing to improved health and living conditions, reducing the spread of waterborne diseases, supporting social stability, and alleviating the daily burdens on families. He emphasized that these projects are implemented based on field studies that ensure the selection of the most needy locations and maximize the humanitarian impact. Al-Kandari noted that the people of Yemen expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to the political leadership of the State of Kuwait for its continuous humanitarian support and sincere brotherly stance towards the Yemeni people. He emphasized that these initiatives reflect Kuwait's deeply rooted humanitarian approach, both leadership and people, in supporting those affected by various crises.

Al-Kandari affirmed that the well-drilling project is being implemented in coordination and cooperation with state institutions, represented by the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to ensure the integrity of the procedures, adherence to approved regulatory frameworks, and the efficient and transparent delivery of aid to those who need it.

Al-Kandari concluded his statement by affirming that Namaa Charity will continue to implement water and environmental sanitation projects in Yemen and other countries most in need, stemming from its humanitarian mission and its pursuit of providing a dignified life for affected communities. He prayed that God would perpetuate the blessings of security and generosity upon the State of Kuwait and make it always a source of goodness and humanity.
