Namaa Charity launches a unique initiative to distribute winter clothing vouchers to needy families within Kuwait.

As part of its humanitarian mission and ongoing efforts to localize charitable work within Kuwait, Namaa Charity, affiliated with the Social Reform Society, launched a unique initiative to distribute winter clothing vouchers to needy families. This initiative empowers them to meet their winter needs in a way that suits their circumstances and preserves their human dignity. The vouchers are distributed through a local market, targeting 1,000 families within Kuwait.

In this context, Khaled Mubarak Al-Shamari, Head of the Development and Relief Sector at Namaa Charity, stated: “Namaa Charity is committed to developing its relief tools to align with the needs of the community and reflects a deep understanding of responsible giving. The winter clothing voucher distribution initiative represents a unique model of support, enabling families to choose what they need themselves from within the market, rather than simply receiving pre-packaged items that may not meet all their needs.” Al-Shamri added, “This year, the project aims to support 1,000 needy families within Kuwait, as part of a clear vision to localize charitable and humanitarian work and focus on supporting Kuwaiti and resident families in ways that respect privacy and promote independence. This stems from Namaa's belief that preserving dignity is the essence of humanitarian work.”

He emphasized that Namaa Charity is committed to implementing its projects within Kuwait using innovative methods that reflect effective community partnerships and contribute to achieving social security and family stability. He also expressed his appreciation for the support of donors and philanthropists who have been and continue to be partners in making a positive impact.

For her part, Abeer Yousef Al-Hajras, head of the Athar Center for Volunteer Work at Namaa Charity, affirmed that volunteers played a pivotal role in the success of this initiative, noting that volunteer work is a fundamental pillar of all Namaa's activities.

Al-Hajras stated, “The Athar Center plays a central role in organizing volunteer work, training volunteers, and involving them in implementing field initiatives, including this humanitarian initiative, which reflected the spirit of giving and social responsibility among the volunteers.” She added, “The volunteers contributed to organizing the distribution process, coordinating with beneficiary families, and providing logistical support with a high spirit of commitment and humanity. This confirms that volunteering is not just a supporting effort, but a true partner in making a difference.”

She noted that the Athar Center continues to work on empowering volunteers and engaging them in community initiatives, which strengthens the values of belonging and giving, and makes volunteer work an effective path in serving Kuwaiti society.

This initiative is part of a series of projects implemented by Namaa Charity within Kuwait, affirming its commitment to localizing charitable work, developing its tools, and achieving a sustainable humanitarian impact that addresses the needs of society and promotes the values of solidarity and compassion.
