Namaa Charity launches "Gaza Soup Kitchens" to provide Iftar meals for 10,000 fasting people
(KUNA) – The Namaa Charity Foundation announced the implementation of its Ramadan Iftar project in the Gaza Strip through the “Gaza Soup Kitchens” initiative. Over 10,000 fasting individuals benefited from the project during the first three days of Ramadan, amidst the dire humanitarian conditions in the Strip.
The Foundation’s Deputy CEO, Abdulaziz Al-Kandari, stated in a press release on Monday that the project was launched in response to the worsening living conditions and shortages of food supplies and basic resources in Gaza.
He added that field teams carried out daily distributions through more than 10 soup kitchens located in several of the most affected areas. He explained that the Foundation aims to operate more than 60 soup kitchens throughout Ramadan as part of a relief plan to expand the reach of beneficiaries and reach the largest possible segment of affected families.
Al-Kandari clarified that the humanitarian situation in the Strip reflects the extent of the suffering endured by families due to the loss of income and the increasing levels of need. He noted that the high demand for assistance at the soup kitchens underscores the scale of the crisis and the urgent need to intensify support efforts.
He added that the Gaza Iftar project provides fresh daily meals that preserve the dignity of those fasting and alleviate the harsh living conditions. He noted that the number of beneficiaries over the past three days exceeded 10,000 fasting individuals, reflecting a portion of the actual need on the ground.
Al-Kandari called upon philanthropists and supporters to continue supporting Iftar projects in Gaza, emphasizing the foundation's commitment to its humanitarian mission and its dedication to utilizing its resources to support the most vulnerable groups.
Namaa Charity continues to support Gaza residents by distributing food baskets, benefiting 1,000 people.
