Namaa Charity Participates in the 48th Kuwait International Book Fair
As part of its ongoing humanitarian and cultural presence, Namaa Charity, affiliated with the Social Reform Society, is participating in the 48th Kuwait International Book Fair. Namaa carries with it a firm vision that believes knowledge is the gateway to giving, and culture is a fundamental driver for building community awareness. This participation reflects Namaa's commitment to integrating charitable work with the national cultural movement, presenting a model that embraces values, strengthens partnerships, and opens new horizons for communication with the fair's audience of all ages and interests.
Al-Kandari: We Aim to Enhance Community Awareness of the Nature of Charitable Work From this perspective, Waleed Al-Kandari, Director of Public Relations at Namaa Charity, highlighted Namaa's mission, objectives, and accompanying programs during this participation, saying: “Our participation in the 48th Kuwait International Book Fair stems from our mission to link humanitarian work with knowledge and promote culture as a gateway to giving. We view this fair as a broad national platform that allows us to introduce Namaa's mission and convey the values of compassion and benevolence to a diverse audience from various segments of society.”
Al-Kandari explained that Namaa's participation aims to enhance community awareness of the nature of charitable work and engage the public in it, emphasizing that culture is a fundamental driver of awareness, and awareness is the first step towards change and sustainable development. He added: “Namaa's presence at this major cultural event reflects our vision of combining books and values, and affirms that humanitarian work is not separate from culture, but rather an integral part of it.” Al-Kandari spoke about the most prominent publications offered by Namaa at its pavilion this year, explaining that they were designed to serve the reader and raise awareness of education, relief, and development issues. These include: the brochure "The Art of Reading," which enhances reading skills and differentiates between types of readers; the book "The Story of Namaa," which documents half a century of Kuwaiti charitable work; the children's charity dictionary "Our Beautiful Words," which introduces young children to the language through values; the book "Memoirs of a Philanthropist," which chronicles Kuwait's journey of giving; and the brochure "The Art of Studying," which supports students in developing organizational skills and achieving excellence.
Al-Kandari added: “These publications build bridges between education and humanitarian work, instill values of giving and belonging, and put knowledge at the service of humanity. We designed them to be educational and cultural materials that contribute to raising awareness and developing future generations.” Regarding the accompanying activities, Al-Kandari noted that the Namaa pavilion this year offers an interactive space featuring humanitarian dialogues, a corner dedicated to raising awareness about the plight of Sudanese refugees in El Fasher, documentary materials about the suffering of the people of Gaza, and informational sessions on the humanitarian situation in Yemen. In addition, there are short workshops for youth on volunteer work, visual presentations showcasing Namaa’s achievements, and educational activities for children inspired by the “Children’s Charitable Dictionary.”
He said: “The Namaa pavilion witnessed significant interaction from visitors who found it to be a space that combines culture and humanity, opening a door to reflection and participation, especially the sessions presented by our field team, who share firsthand experiences from relief sites.”
Regarding the impact of participation in strengthening community partnerships, Al-Kandari emphasized that the exhibition serves as a strategic platform for connecting with new segments of society. He stated, "During this edition, we aim to enhance the presence of charitable work within the cultural sphere, build new partnerships with academic institutions and youth initiatives, attract supporters for education, relief, and development projects, and expand the circle of entities that sponsor the printing of our educational publications."
Al-Kandari concluded his statement by saying, "Namaa Charity will, God willing, continue its mission of integrating culture with philanthropy, fostering human awareness, and building a cohesive society, so that books remain a beacon of hope, and giving remains a light that touches human life everywhere."
