Abdulaziz Al-Kandari: Organized charitable work through the national platform enhances integration among charities and supports state efforts
Namaa Charity affirmed that localizing charitable work strengthens social stability and makes us a direct support to our community
In light of the current regional circumstances and the challenges facing the region, the national role of the charitable sector in Kuwait stands out as a fundamental pillar in supporting state efforts and strengthening social cohesion. From this perspective, the following interview highlights the efforts of Namaa Charity in supporting the state through its humanitarian initiatives, its coordination plans with government entities, and its contribution to achieving social security and national stability.
Today, we host Abdulaziz Al-Kandari, Deputy CEO of Namaa Charity, to discuss the role the organization has played in supporting the state, and the details of its work with the Social Reform Society and the Union of Charitable Societies and Foundations through the National Charitable Platform.
First: How do you view the recent events and the blatant aggression against Kuwait’s territory? What is your message in this situation?
The blatant aggression against Kuwait’s territory by Iran is strongly condemned. We categorically reject any violation of our nation’s sovereignty or threat to its security and stability. We extend our deepest condolences and prayers for mercy to our righteous martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect Kuwait, asking Allah to accept them among the highest ranks, grant the injured a swift recovery, and make their suffering an elevation in their ranks and expiation for their sins.
At this stage, we emphasize the importance of unity and avoiding anything that may cause division, in line with the teachings of our religion that call for solidarity and cohesion.
We also extend our appreciation to Kuwait’s frontline heroes—the Kuwaiti army, Ministry of Interior, civil defense, fire services, and workers in the oil sector, hospitals, and airports—who represent the shield and strength of the nation.
We stress that reliance on Allah is the foundation of resilience and success, as stated in the Quran: “And victory is not but from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise” and “If you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet.”
To citizens and residents, we call for awareness and responsibility, avoiding rumors and actions that weaken unity, as this stage requires the highest levels of solidarity.
Second: How did Namaa Charity act to support state efforts during this difficult time?
From the very first moment, we felt our responsibility toward our nation and community. We immediately coordinated with government entities, particularly the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Union of Charitable Societies, to accurately identify priorities and needs.
We supported shelters by providing essential supplies and logistics, in addition to delivering daily meals to affected individuals and sovereign entities such as the Ministry of Defense.
We also contributed logistically by operating field centers for aid distribution and service management, ensuring precise delivery without duplication.
We did not overlook awareness and faith-based efforts, launching campaigns promoting unity and solidarity, alongside initiatives such as debt relief for indebted individuals.
Third: What were the أبرز initiatives implemented by Namaa Charity?
We focused on several key areas:
Shelters: Supporting 15 centers with full logistical readiness
Food security: Providing over 2,710 daily meals, including at Mubarak Hospital
Health support: Participating in blood donation campaigns and supporting medical services
Awareness: Launching campaigns to promote social security and national unity
These initiatives reflect a true partnership between the state and civil society and confirm that charitable work is now a core component of Kuwait’s social security system.
Fourth: How does Namaa Charity cooperate with the Union and the National Platform?
Cooperation with the Union and the National Platform represents a qualitative leap in charitable work, ensuring organization, transparency, and effective coordination.
The Ministry of Social Affairs identifies needs, which are then listed on the platform. Charities can review and respond based on their capabilities.
The platform ensures continuous monitoring, from approval to implementation, and provides real-time dashboards to track progress and needs.
This model enhances coordination, speeds response, reduces waste, and ensures all initiatives serve the public good.
Fifth: How do you ensure organized and effective delivery on the ground?
We follow structured channels:
Continuous coordination with government entities
Organizing needs via the national platform
Engaging the Union in implementation
We monitor every stage carefully to:
Reduce duplication
Improve efficiency
Direct resources effectively
Ensure real impact on the ground
Final Message:
We extend our deepest appreciation to Kuwait’s heroes in the field. You are the pride and shield of the nation.
We call on society to remain united, aware, and responsible, avoiding rumors and supporting national efforts.
As Allah says: “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.”
Our message is clear:
Let us stand united, support our nation, and uphold our values to ensure Kuwait’s security, stability, and resilience.
